Awesome Camp Experience

Sixth grade got back from doing an annual school tradition, Outdoor Ed!! Camp lasted from January 13th to January 17th. And it wasn’t just Brookhaven who went. The schools Sierra Vista and Arborland Montessori came along with Brookhaven to Camp Cedar Crest, high up in the mountains! All the cabin leaders were really nice, and I still wish that camp lasted a little longer. We did many fun things while at camp. We did fun hikes, played Gaga Ball, and sang LOTS of funny dismissal songs. We fellow sixth graders got to go to learn about the great outdoors. There were three main hikes : Wildlife, Geology, and Biology. In my opinion, camp was SO much fun. All the future sixth graders will have a BLAST at this place, while making new friends along the way!

It’s December, and you know what that means! It’s almost Winter Break! Yup. That’s right, only one and a half more weeks! But first, let's talk about academics. Last unit in Social Studies, we learned about ancient Egypt. My friends and I loved learning about pharaohs, and the mummification process. Did you know they hid jewels in their tombs with the pharaohs? Also, we have been learning some pretty cool stuff in Math, too. We have been learning composite figures. Even though it is a little hard, I think it is also pretty fun to do. In our current unit in Science we have been learning about energy. There are 3 different types of energy, kinetic, thermal, and potential. They are all in our everyday lives. Any ways I love how 6th grade is going so far. Thank you.
