Hello. My name is Mrs. Walls and I am one of the 6th grade teachers at Brookhaven Elementary School. This is my 14th year of teaching, and my 8th year teaching at Brookhaven. After teaching 4th and 5th grade at Brookhaven, I am excited to be a part of the 6th grade teaching team this year!
I grew up in the PYLUSD, going to: Rose Drive, Golden, Tuffree, and El Dorado. I received both my B.A. in Elementary Education and my Teaching Credential from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. I then received my M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in technology from Concordia University in Irvine. I received several awards for leadership and service from both these universities. Teaching is not just my career, it is my passion! I taught 4th grade for two years in the Magnolia School District in Anaheim, then moved to a private school in Stanton where I taught 5th, 7th, and 8th grade.
I am a mom of boy girl twins, my husband teaches at Yorba Linda High School, and we have a cute, little dog named Molly. I enjoy traveling, going on walks with my twins & dog, and spending time with my family.

Educational Philosophy
As a teacher, I am dedicated to creating a positive learning environment where all students are encouraged to be successful and given the support they need to become lifelong learners. I believe it is my responsibility to make content accessible to all types of learners and provide opportunities for children to apply their knowledge to real world situations. I am committed to preparing students to become successful in this 21st Century, technology-driven world. As a teacher, I inspire thoughts, challenge ideas, advocate for my students, and lead by example at all times.
“The essence of education is not to stuff you with facts but to help you discover your uniqueness, to teach you how to develop it, and then show you how to give it away.”
